Active Killer Response Course Description
Active killers are a constant threat to society. This course equips the modern first responder with the tools needed to counter and eliminate active killer threats. Using actors in structured force-on-force training scenarios, students will hone their skills against actual adversaries in an environment requiring target identification and deconfliction. More than an end-user course, the student will learn how to set up and run effective training scenarios for their home department.
Requirements: LE, MIL, or appropriate security credentials

Equipment List
**NOTE** This class uses non-lethal training ammunition (NLTA) only. NO LIVE AMMO.
Students provide their own NLTA ammo: 500 rounds minimum. Students are responsible for ensuring that their NLTA ammo functions reliability in their converted firearms prior to attending the class. If you are unable to provide NLTA equipment, contact host to check on loaner gear.
We will have limited sets of NLTA protection masks/groin protectors at the class. It is recommended that those who have access to department gear bring their own masks to decrease downtime.
Functional duty carbine and/or pistol, converted to NLTA such as Sims, FX, or UTM. Quality airsoft firearm replicating duty firearm is also acceptable.
- Note pad, and pen/pencil
- Clothing suited to strenuous activity as well as being seasonally appropriate
- Rain gear / cold weather gear (seasonal)
- Eye pro that wraps around or includes side shields
- Issued ballistic armor
- long sleeve pants/shirt, heavy weight recommended to blunt NLTA impacts
- Baseball style hat recommended
- Proper belt to support equipment
- A cleaning kit and tools that are compatible with the weapon system(s) in question is also a must.
- Carbine magazine pouches, Battle belt, or Chest rig
- Handgun (secondary weapon), magazines
- Tools that work on your weapon
- A holster and magazine pouch that will retain equipment when moving
- Weapons lube
- Water hydrating device
- Knee and elbow pads (optional)
- Gloves (optional)
- An open mind

Course Hours: Each day the class will gather at approximately 7:30AM and will end around 4:30PM. Confirmed start times will be sent out about 2 weeks before class.
