Premier Training in Costa Ludus’ Backyard Home Range
Get more one-on-one time with world class trainer Chris Costa via our premium classes. Firearms training takes place on Costa’s backyard home range. Lower attendee to instructor ratios are achieved by limiting class sizes in our advantageous offering. Class sizes are capped at 12 students instead of the usual 23, allowing for more individually specialized training. Get more from Costa’s technical instruction and live fire time than previously attained. The range is surrounded by 360 degree mountainous views. When the training day is over, guests can enjoy the Salmon River, amazing views and the seclusion of their choice of area lodging.
Premier Training – 1-Day Carbine 1 – Level 1 Course Description
1-Day Carbine 1 – Level 1 is designed to give the beginner or the intermediate shooterthe proper carbine fundamentals. The class focuses on the core foundation of accuracy and acceptable accuracy under dynamic stress, with proper weapon manipulation.

Equipment List
Students provide their own ammo: 400 rounds of carbine ammo minimum. Multiple calibers may be used throughout this course. Drills can be modified to accommodate a lower round count.
Hardware – A functional and practical carbine or battle rifle chambered in 5.56×45, 5.45×39, 300 Blackout, 7.62×39, 7.62×51. A secondary weapon (handgun) of choice. If available, a spare weapon system is also an excellent idea. A cleaning kit and tools that are compatible with the weapon system(s) in question is also a must. Each student should have a minimum of 5 working magazines.
- Note pad, and pen/pencil
- Clothing suited to strenuous activity as well as being seasonally appropriate
- Rain gear / cold weather gear (seasonal)
- Ear pro (electronic preferred) / Eye pro
- Baseball style hat recommended
- Proper belt to support equipment
- Magazine pouches, Battle belt, or Chest rig
