Premier Training in Costa Ludus’ Backyard Home Range

Get more one-on-one time with world-class trainer Chris Costa via our premium classes. Firearms training takes place on Costa’s backyard home range. Lower attendee-to-instructor ratios are achieved through our advantageous class-size limit. Class sizes are capped at eight students instead of the usual 23, allowing for more individually specialized training. Get more from Costa’s technical instruction and live fire time than previously attained. The range offers 360-degree views of the mountains. When the training day is over, guests can enjoy the Salmon River, amazing views, and the seclusion of their choice of area lodging.

Shotgun Course Description

Shotgun is designed to give the beginner, intermediate or advanced shooter the proper Shotgun fundamentals. Starting with mindset, the class focuses on the core foundation of proper manipulation and function of shotgun employment to include the use of Slugs, 00Buck patterning, and ammo change overs. This course will leave the shooter with a proper shotgun foundation in manipulation.

Equipment List

Students provide their own ammo:  500 rounds Bird, 100 rounds Slugs, 100 rounds 00Buck.

Hardware – A functional and practical shotgun Pump or Semi Auto chambered in 12 or 20 gauge. If available, a spare weapon system is also an excellent idea.

• Note pad, and pen/pencil
• Clothing suited to strenuous activity as well as being seasonally appropriate
• Rain gear / cold weather gear (seasonal)
• Ear pro (electronic preferred) / Eye pro
• Baseball style hat recommended
• Proper belt to support equipment
• A cleaning kit and tools that are compatible with the weapon system(s) in question is also a must.
• Handgun (optional secondary weapon)
• 150 rounds handgun ammo (for optional secondary weapon)
• Battle belt (optional), or Chest rig (optional)
• Tools that work on your weapon
• A holster and magazine pouch that will retain equipment when moving
• Weapons lube

Course Hours:  8AM start class; 4PM finish class at range. ***Costa Ludus is on Pacific Time.

Meals: Bring snacks, water, sodas, coffee, etc. 30 minutes will be taken on the property for lunch. There is not enough time to go off property and back for lunch. A refrigerator will be available. No microwave available. Recommend bringing your own food if you have dietary restrictions, or preferences- no discounts provided.

Dry camping is available on property. No hookups. Pack in, pack out. Crew cab with an 8-foot bed, 28ft max off a hitch recommended due to switchbacks on McKinley Mine Rd.
